Renowned Enologist--Mr. White Diamond

The owner-Mr. Mario was born in Whangarei, New Zealand. As native Croatians, his parents mastered the methods of planting white diamond grape in Croatia where has a long history of planting grape and brewing wine.

To find a suitable territory for planting white diamond grape, Mario's father came to New Zealand. At first he worked as a rubber worker in order to make a living. Through over ten years exploration and practice, he successfully brewed white diamond wine. The public was attracted by the unique aroma of this wine and snapped it up when it came to market. The great success of white diamond wine helped Vuletich family earn its fame and fortune in the local.

After his retirement, Mario's father bought a small hill facing the sea in Whangarei and established longview Estate Winery in 1967. Since then, white diamond grape has planted widely in Whangarei. Vuletich family is the pioneer of local wine. longview Estate Winery is also the only winery planted white diamond grape in New Zealand.

In addition to the very representative white diamond grape, longview Estate Winery has other internationally widely grown wine grape varieties, such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Syrah, Chardonnay, Gerwurztraminer .

After the death of his father, Mario inherited the winery and brought cultivation and brewing technology to a whole new level. He is one of the founding members of New Zealand Brewers Association. In addition, he has received numerous international wine competitions and is prestigious in the industry. Mario was affectionately known by local people as Mr. White Diamond.

Today, he leads longview Estate Winery to the world.

His daughter Maree is the third generation inheritor of the winery. She is also a famous sommelier in New Zealand.
